- Nightclubs like the Savoy Ballroom, the Apollo Theater and the Cotton Club helped popularize jazz music during this period.
- Some famous musicians include Duke Ellington, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, and Jelly Roll Morton.
